Game Day Fun!

Who doesn’t love a great football game, especially the Super Bowl, and the fun foods that go with it. It becomes second nature, when you eat healthy anyway, to just continue the trend by modifying the game day recipes.

Baked or grilled low-fat hotdogs, turkey burgers and wings will suit everyone’s palate. Homemade red skin potato fries can be topped with reduced-fat cheese. Fiery chili is great with both ground turkey breast, reduced-fat turkey sausage, and then tons of kidney and black beans. And who doesn’t love a 7-layer dip that focuses on layers of beans and lots of veggies, with the small addition of sour cream and grated cheeses.

An antipasto platter can hold up to a variety of taste preferences. Layer healthy choices such as marinated spicy (cooked) reduced-fat Italian sausage , low-fat provolone or muenster cheeses, olives, roasted red peppers and marinated artichoke hearts.
