Kappa Sisters Spread Word About Martha’s Market

October 17, 2011

The sisters of Kappa Kappa Gamma at the University of Virginia helped spread the word about Martha’s Market Monday morning by painting Beta Bridge.  After about an hour of work, the message was complete, and will be seen by hundreds of college students each day who either drive by the bridge, or pass it walking to and from class.

Martha’s Market, put on by The Women’s Committee of Martha Jefferson Hospital, is a shopping event that raises money to fund women’s health outreach programs and inititaives at the hospital.  The market will be held this coming Friday through Sunday(October 21st – 23rd) at the John Paul Jones arena.  65 unique boutiques will tranform John Paul Jones into a shopping paradise and 15 cents of every dollar spent will go directly back to Martha Jefferson.

Admission is $8 for a weekend pass, and there is a discounted ticket price of $5 for military personnel and family with ID,  students with an ID and teenagers 14 and over. Free admission for children 13 and younger.
