2 slices honey wheat or white bread, torn into pieces
¼ cup fat-free milk
¾ lb. lean ground beef
¾ lb. ground turkey breast
½ cup grated carrot
1/3 cup finely chopped onion
1/3 cup + 2 Tbsp. chili sauce or ketchup, divided
1 egg, beaten or ¼ cup egg substitute
½ teaspoon ground pepper
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine bread and milk in large bowl; let stand 5 minutes.
- Add beef, turkey, carrot, onion, 1/3 cup chili sauce, egg and pepper to bread mixture; mix gently with hands until blended.
- Shape into 8-inch-long loaf in13x9-inch pan. Spread remaining 2 Tbsp. chili sauce over top of meatloaf.
- Bake meatloaf for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until cooked through to 160 degrees. Cut into 8 (1-inch) slices. Makes 8 servings.
