It’s a great time to be a nurse at Martha Jefferson! Under the leadership of Amy Black, MSN, RN, CNAA Vice President/CNO, we are building on our Caring Tradition to meet the nursing needs of our patients in an increasingly complex healthcare environment.

Amy Black congratulates Dana Crickenberger, RN, PCCN on becoming one of the first nurses in Central Virginia to be recognized as a Progressive Care Certified Nurse.

The mission of Martha Jefferson’s nurses is to promote physical, spiritual, and emotional well-being in Charlottesville and the surrounding communities; to share the joy of birth, to heal the sick and injured, and to offer heartfelt care to the dying. Being a Martha Jefferson nurse means working with other healthcare professionals to make key decisions that further the healing process for our patients.

Our Department of Nursing Education supports opportunities for our nurses to learn new skills or to maintain standards of excellence in their area of specialty. Our commitment to the provision of exceptional care for our patients means making certain that our employees are well trained and enthusiastic about their advancement opportunities with our organization. It is our vision within our caring tradition, that the nurses of Martha Jefferson will become leaders in professional nursing practice.
