Martha Jefferson Hospital ("Martha Jefferson") recognizes the importance and prevalence of social media and has adopted it as one of the ways in which our organization communicates. Important news about Martha Jefferson Hospital is shared via social media, as is general health information that could be of benefit to others. Martha Jefferson is happy to address questions from the public; however, our social media mechanisms are generally not the forum we use to discuss policy or procedural issues. If a posting involves questions that stem from a specific patient case or experience, or if it concerns a subject matter that is deemed complex by the hospital, we will provide contact information to the person asking the question in order to discuss the specific situation in greater detail, whether by telephone or by arranging an in-person meeting. We are committed to trying to answer questions or concerns that patients or their family members may have.

BY ACCESSING, VIEWING AND/OR POSTING ON ANY MARTHA JEFFERSON HOSPITAL SOCIAL MEDIA SITE YOU AGREE TO THESE TERMS. Martha Jefferson has opened publicly facing pages on social media sites for viewing content and/or videos and posting comments. These social media sites include but are not limited to various sites such as Facebook, Twitter, blogs, multimedia or other user-generated content. By accessing, viewing and/or posting any content to any Martha Jefferson Social Media Site on the Internet, you accept, without limitation or qualification, the following terms of use. If you do not agree to the terms of this Policy, you may not view or post any content to any Martha Jefferson Social Media Site on the Internet. Your use of Martha Jefferson Social Media Sites is acceptance of this Policy and has the same effect as if you had actually physically signed an agreement.

  1. By posting any comments, posts or other materials on Martha Jefferson social media outlets, you give Martha Jefferson the irrevocable right to reproduce, distribute, display, edit, modify, creative derivative works from, and otherwise use your submission for any purpose in any form and on any medial.
  2. You will not post material that infringes on the rights of any third party, including intellectual property, privacy or publicity rights.
  3. You will not post material that is unlawful, obscene, defamatory, threatening, harassing, abusive, slanderous, racially, ethically or sexually hateful or offensive, or embarrassing to any other person or entity as determined by Martha Jefferson in its sole discretion.
  4. You will not post advertisements or solicitations of business, or post chain letters or pyramid schemes.
  5. You will not impersonate another person, or allow any other person or entity to use your identification for posting or viewing comments.
  6. You will not post the same note more than once or "spam".

Martha Jefferson reserves the right (but is not obligated) to do any or all of the following:

  1. Remove communications that are abusive, illegal or disruptive, or that otherwise fail to conform with these Terms and Conditions.
  2. Terminate a user's access to a Martha Jefferson social media avenue upon any breach of these Terms and Conditions.
  3. Edit or delete any communications posted on our social media mechanisms regardless of whether such communications violate these standards.

Finally, you agree that you will indemnify Martha Jefferson against any fines, damages, losses, liabilities, judgments, costs or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees and costs) arising out of a claim by a third party relating to any material you have posted.
