Lewis V. Owens, MD

Dr. Lewis V. Owens has practiced Vascular Surgery at Martha Jefferson Hospital since 2001. He is a graduate of Dartmouth College and received his medical degree from the University of Colorado. He completed General and Vascular Surgery training at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. Dr. Owens is board certified in General Surgery and in Vascular Surgery. His wife, Kelly, is a board certified OB/GYN and is in private practice in Charlottesville. They have four children. Being a Colorado native, Dr. Owens enjoys skiing and is acclimating to the Virginia slopes.

LO: You're doing karaoke. What do you sing?
LL: Easy. "Stayin' Alive," by the Bee Gees. I know, I know, it's disco, but I've always liked it.
LO: Sort of an appropriate song for the ICU?
LO: Do you cook? Is there a meal where I wouldn't know if you or a restaurant made it?
LL: It's not very hard, but my signature dish is bourbon turkey.
LO: I bet the cycles line up outside when dinner is served.
LO: Where do you see Martha Jefferson Hospital in 10 years?
LL: A premier community hospital that remains a center of excellence for our nurses and doctors, embraces cutting-edge technology and maintains care and compassion for our patients.
LO: And plenty of spots outside to park a 1,000-pound motorcycle.
