Mad Dogs and Irishmen...
It Must Be March
Well, the noonday sun is not quite that
hot yet, but spring is just around the bend. March doesn't just usher in a new season, however. For the Irish - and anyone who just appreciates a good reason to have a party - there's Saint Patrick's Day. An estimated 40 million Americans can trace their ancestry back to Ireland, where every business except restaurants and pubs will close on March 17 in observance of their patron saint.
Not to be outdone by a single holiday, the NCAA can claim the attention of an estimated 48 million Americans over the course of a month. That's how many of us consider ourselves college basketball fans. Some studies suggest that March Madness is so captivating it costs U.S. businesses an estimated $3.8 billion in lost productivity.
Since it's not quite March yet (therefore, there's nothing better to do), try your hand at some trivia questions.
In what year was the first NCAA Tournament conducted?
In what century is Saint Patrick believed to have been born?
In 1950, which school became the only one to win both the NIT and the NCAA titles?
In what year did the NCAA Tournament expand to include four rather than two regions?

his first varsity season for UCLA?
Who hit the game-winning basket as
a freshman in the 1982 national final against Georgetown?

Which nickname was given to Michigan State players Morris Peterson, Mateen Cleaves and Charlie Bell?
