Stroke is the third leading cause of the death in the United States, and each year approximately 700,000 people experience a new or recurrent stroke. On average, someone suffers a stroke every 45 seconds.
Stroke can be devastating to a patient and his or her family, which is why we feel so strongly about providing our community with the best stroke treatment available. Since its founding Martha Jefferson Hospital Stroke Center has distinguished itself by providing excellent, evidence-based care, and we have been recognized with the following awards:
Get With the Guidelines– Stroke
Martha Jefferson Hospital received the Get With the Guidelines™-Stroke (GWTG-Stroke) Bronze (2009), Silver (2010), and Gold Awards (2011).
