Speech Therapy

Martha Jefferson Hospital offers both adult and pediatric evaluation and treatment of speech, language, cognitive and swallowing disorders in the outpatient clinic.

Included among the disorders we treat are:

  • Speech disorders, such as apraxia, dysarthria, voice dysfunction, articulation impairment and stuttering
  • Language disorders, including stroke-related aphasia
  • Swallowing disorders, or dysphagia
  • Cognitive-communication disorders, including cognitive impairments impacting behavioral self-regulation, social interaction, activities of daily living, learning and academic performance, and vocational performance
  • Communication options, such as Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) speech for people with tracheostomies and TEP's (Voice Prostheses)
