Martha Jefferson Hospital offers both adult and pediatric evaluation and treatment of speech, language, cognitive and swallowing disorders in the outpatient clinic.
Included among the disorders we treat are:
- Speech disorders, such as apraxia, dysarthria, voice dysfunction, articulation impairment and stuttering
- Language disorders, including stroke-related aphasia
- Swallowing disorders, or dysphagia
- Cognitive-communication disorders, including cognitive impairments impacting behavioral self-regulation, social interaction, activities of daily living, learning and academic performance, and vocational performance
- Communication options, such as Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) speech for people with tracheostomies and TEP's (Voice Prostheses)
