When you choose Martha Jefferson, you ensure that you have access to the hospital and physicians who are setting the standard for quality, cost-effective community healthcare. Martha Jefferson physicians are actively involved with the Hospital in continuously improving clinical quality as well as the quality of the patient's experience. As an institution, Martha Jefferson practices the principles of continuous quality improvement. Here is just a sampling our quality measures:

Martha Jefferson Hospital and the Martha Jefferson Clinical Laboratory are fully accredited by the Joint Commission for the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.

The Martha Jefferson Cancer Care Center has been designated a Community Hospital Comprehensive Cancer Care Center by the American College of Surgeons, Commission on Cancer.

The Cancer Care Center and its multidisciplinary team of cancer physicians have been accepted into major, national cancer study groups that make the latest most promising cancer treatments available to patients.

Our Radiation Oncology service has met the rigorous standards for certification by the American College of Radiology. It is one of only four such services in the state to achieve this, and is the only one on the area.

Medical staff members are required to be board certified within five years of eligibility within their specialty.
