Improving
the Health of the Community We Serve
Community
hospitals such as Martha Jefferson have a pivotal role to play in improving
the health status of the communities they serve. Martha Jefferson's mission
is simple: to participate as a community resource in raising the health
status of area residents. Martha Jefferson is a resource in many distinct
ways, including the Community Health Partnership Program, health information
centers such as HealthSource Library, the Cancer Care Resource Center,
community health education programs and health screenings. We believe
that the best way to achieve our mission is to be a trusted partner to
community organizations, healthcare providers and individuals.
Martha Jefferson
Reaches Out in Many Ways
Martha Jefferson Hospital's
mission - to improve the health and well-being of the community - compels
us to continually improve upon our services, expand the continuum of care,
educate individuals about their health, and foster a culture of learning
among our skilled professionals, and to reach out to individuals in need.
Many people who might not otherwise seek healthcare are served through
a variety of community-based programs - our Community Health Partnerships
-- that we undertake solely or in conjunction with other community agencies
and groups.
Martha Jefferson provides
indigent care and has a sliding scale payment system called Health Trust
for persons who qualify for assistance.
