Charlottesville Dining

Charlottesville is filled with wonderful and unique dining options. There is a fit for every taste, whether it be buffalo wings or the finest French cuisine.

A majority of the restaurants in the area can be found in one of the following districts:

The Downtown Mall

More than 30 restaurants are located in the heart of Charlottesville on the historic, pedestrian mall. The mall features several fine dining establishments as well as coffee shops and breakfast stops. The restaurants are intermingled with a variety of unique boutiques. Street parking is available and there are also two parking garages. If you are up for a short walk, you could leave your car at the hospital.

Belmont

Belmont is considered one of Charlottesville's most popular "up-and-coming" neighborhoods. Surrounded by residential homes, the small neighborhood offers several casual dining options. Several of the venues also provide live music and have a surplus of outdoor seating perfect for a nice day.

The Corner

The Corner is located directly next to the University of Virginia and is frequented by many students. There are sit-down restaurants and bars, as well as a place to grab a quick snack or sandwich. Street parking is available as well as several parking garages. The corner is designated as both a local historic district and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Route 29

The route 29 corridor is where you will find the majority of chain restaurants in Charlottesville, familiar to almost any visitor. Cheeseburger in Paradise, Chili's and Outback Steakhouse are just a few options. Many of these restaurants are also located convenient to area hotels.
