This broad division of facial plastic surgery varies from simple wound closures to more complex facial reconstruction. Dr. Chance has extensive experience with reconstruction of Mohs surgical defects, and most of these procedures performed by Dr. Chance in her office on the day of your Mohs surgery. Mohs micrographic surgery is a procedure performed by dermatologists with advanced training in the removal of certain skin cancer types. These procedures are usually performed in the dermatologist’s office. After a malignant lesion is removed with Mohs surgery, a depression or surgical hole in the skin remains. Such scars may be rather disfiguring, and reconstructive surgery may be performed immediately after Mohs surgery to repair the damaged site. Dr. Chance specializes in carefully reconstructing the facial tissue in such patients, restoring their skin’s natural appearance.
